Magdalena Szutkowska, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. The R&D works in the field of ceramic materials carried out by Magdalena Szutkowska are related with the improvement of manufacturing technology and new methods of mechanical properties testing. She is currently involved in obtaining and testing of new composite ceramics based on alumina, hardmetals and superhard materials in order to improve the fracture toughness of ceramics designed for cutting tools. Magdalena Szutkowska has been a leader of 10 international and Polish projects. She is the author and co-author of more than 120 papers, three monographs, a few chapters in books and the co-author of 5 patents. Magdalena Szutkowska is a member of the working group for multifunctional materials and advanced composites (nanocomposites) at the Polish Ministry of Development. She has been awarded the Golden Cross of Merit by the President of the Polish Republic and honoured with the prestigious “IAAM Scientist Award”.
The principal activity of the Centre of Advanced Manufacturing Technology is research and development works in the field of manufacturing of high-tech complex industrial products and transferring results and knowledge to industry in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Activity of our Centre is focused on design and manufacturing of sintered ceramic and metallic materials with the special application, sintered materials for machine parts, equipment and tool materials, manufacturing of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and cubic boron nitride (PcBN) with special properties depending on the destination, advanced sintering technology for materials including nanomaterials, materials with the participation of self-lubricating phase, etc.
