LabsArena.com team are pretty excited about the legendary Web Summit 2022, which brought together 71,000+ people from 160 countries, and the companies redefined the tech industry.
Since 2014, the Web Summit has taken place in Lisbon, the whole city plunges into the atmosphere of innovation and futurism for several days and welcomes guests from all over the world. Web Summit is one of the world’s most powerful and innovative events that gathers people who move this world forward: founders of amazingly successful startups, directors of world-famous companies, world stars, and many more exciting personalities.
LabsArena.com team, proud to be a part of the largest delegation in the history of Ukraine, represented the Ukrainian technological ecosystem to the global IT community this year. We had our own stand as a part of the ALPHA Startup Program, where we presented our platform and services to the attendees. We took as much as possible from the opportunity to talk to the people, and during the entire day our booth never ran out of visitors. Moreover, we put all our efforts into not only talking to but also listening to our visitors and Web Summit attendees, quickly identifying whether we are talking to a potential customer, a partner company, a mentor or an investor to have a meaningful conversation for both sides. We are grateful to all the amazing attendees that visited our booth and came to talk to us during the summit!
Despite russia’s tries to conquer Ukraine, this year, the Ukrainian pavilion was one of the largest and the brightest spots at Web Summit 2022. Undoubtedly, it became a zone of increased attention, as the most impressive achievements of the Ukrainian IT sector were demonstrated to the world, and even the full-scale russia-Ukraine war with horrible russian crimes against humanity could not stop it. On the big stage of the UA pavilion we pitched LabsArena.com to the world IT community, entrepreneurs, innovators and investors, together with other 39 Ukrainian startups. It was unparalleled networking opportunities for us.
Also, it was a pleasure for our team that our video presentation about LabsArena.com has been selected at the 40 Words video competition for being broadcasted across all the screens on stages and around the venue everyday during Web Summit 2022.
We were also struck by the large number of incredible speakers from around the world: Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine, Changpeng Zhao, Founder and CEO of Binance, Geoff Ralston, President of Y Combinator, Naomi Gleit, Head of Product at Meta, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal and many more – Web Summit brings together today’s most influential people to discuss about today’s most relevant topics. At the main stage of Web Summit Olena Zelenska emphasized that innovators and new technologies should work for peace, for sustainable future, for saving people and that everyone, not only IT specialists can contribute to the recovery of Ukraine: “I believe in technologies that save, not destroy. I believe that such technologies are the future. Because otherwise there is simply no future in the whole world. You are the powerful intellectual force that moves the world. The potential and technology that can help, not destroy are in your hands. And it is with Ukraine and right now that you can move the world in the right direction”.
This year’s Web Summit will be in our hearts for a long time. It was more than business and more than conference. It is about spirit, synergy and power. People around the world are uniting to create the future and helping Ukraine defend its freedom, peace and democracy in the world. And all this was possible in Lisbon.
Together with you we will move forward and work to support science, research and innovation worldwide, sustainable world, better future, safe and successful Ukraine.
