CETR-UMT-2MT Tribological Tester

The ball-on-disc method allows

  • fast evaluation (in-situ) of changes in the coefficients of friction and electrical resistance of the sliding pair during the test;
  • accurate evaluation of the specific wear rate of the sample after the test;
  • processing, visualization and data export (with the use of the specialist software included);
  • to limit costly work trials of high speed cutting tools (HSC);
  • to study a wide range of monolithic materials and coated materials – metallic, ceramic, composite, super-hard, in operating conditions that simulate real-life operating conditions (e.g. conditions that occur during high speed cutting – HSC).

Parameters

  • wide range of testing temperatures: 20-1000ºC;
  • wide range of disk velocity: 0.1-2000 rev/min;
  • precise load control and positioning of the sample in relation to the counterbody (realised by a servomechanism);
  • possibility of programming (with the use of scripts) various process parameters, including load, movement, heating, etc.;
  • 2-channel signal converter (resolution of 5 mN);
  • load / friction force with a wide range of force, measurement: 0.2-100 N;
  • option for measuring electrical resistance of the friction pair;
  • full computer control and data acquisition with options to view five parameters – load force, friction force, vertical displacement of the pin/ball, temperature and electrical resistance of the sliding pair.
